INDIANAPOLIS – Engage Mentoring and the Indiana Chamber of Commerce hosted their first Indiana Mentoring Excellence Awards last month to recognize mentors, mentees and companies who have created an exceptional mentoring culture.
Gregory & Appel Insurance (G&A) received the Company of the Year Award for having the most highly engaged participants and Becky Williams, Payroll Specialist, G&A, was recognized as the Mentee of the Year.
“When our colleagues have opportunities to learn and grow in their personal and professional development, we all win,” said Andrew Appel, President & CEO of G&A. “We are humbled to have been selected for this recognition and will always continue to support our colleagues.”
G&A joined Engage Mentoring’s formalized workplace mentoring program in 2019 to provide additional learning opportunities for its employees. The program connects mentees with senior leaders in other industries to help nurture professional growth and development.
“I am truly honored to receive the Mentee of the Year award,” said Williams. “The knowledge transfer I have received from my mentor is priceless and has helped me continue advancing my professional development.”
“We are thrilled that Becky received the Mentee of the Year award,” said Jami Burdine, VP & Human Resources Manager. “She exemplifies what it means to be a team leader. Our colleagues are one of the pillars of our organization, and supporting them through mentorship will always be a priority for us.”
