Mike began his insurance career in 1989. He brings an insurance and risk management industry background, along with an engineering degree and extensive customer service experience to his role leading the Gregory & Appel Client Services claims and risk control teams.
His expertise includes strategic planning, risk control engineering and management of insurance operations. He often consults for leading insurance companies that retain him to work with their largest Gregory & Appel managed clients.
Mike is a Past President of the Indiana Society for Healthcare Risk Management and winner of the Glenn T. Troyer Award for his service to ISHRM as the Outstanding Risk Manager of the Year. Mike is a regular speaker and resource for risk management organizations and societies including: IASBO, The Indiana Association of School Business Officials, LeadingAge human services organization that focuses on the elderly and Captive Resources insurance service organization that focuses on Group Captive formation and management.
He is a Purdue University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and an Associate degree in Applied Science in Biomedical Technology. He was recognized as the Outstanding Biomedical Electronics Graduate from Purdue University.
Outside of the office Mike has been active for many years with Indiana Youth Soccer and the Race to Recovery to benefit people who suffer paralysis as a result of spinal cord injuries.
