For over 130 years, G&A has been a proud and active member of the downtown Indianapolis community and surrounding areas.
We value our community and encourage each employee to serve, volunteer, and get involved. As a company, we unite around civic causes that are important to us, like education, the arts, and women’s health. For more than a decade, we have been named a “Company that Cares” by the United Way of Central Indiana.
In 2017, President of Property & Casualty Andrew Appel was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40. Andrew felt compelled to turn this recognition into something that helped others so he launched #40Causes.
125 Years, 125 Causes
To celebrate our 125th anniversary and express our gratitude to the community at large, Gregory & Appel Insurance donated $500 each to 125 Central Indiana non-profit organizations. View the full list of recipients.
United Way of Central Indiana
G&A is a strong supporter of the United Way of Central Indiana, and a particularly active member of their ReadUp program. Our employees go to IPS Washington Irving School #14 and serve as reading tutors their students.
Greater Indianapolis Habitat for Humanity
In 2016, G&A participated in the annual AgBuild for the Greater Indianapolis Habitat for Humanity. We were thrilled to be one of 30 sponsors and 800 volunteers on this project.
Central Indiana Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
We are regularly a top fundraiser for the Central Indiana Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. In 2016, our dedicated group of Gregory & Appel team members participated in the 5K run/walk and raised $7,450 for the foundation finishing as a top 10 fundraiser.
Supporting a Noble Mission
Amy Korzekwa, who recently celebrated her 24th year at Gregory & Appel, is a shining example of our successful partnership with Noble of Indiana, and their supported employment program.
Arts Council of Indianapolis
We are passionate about arts and cultural education programs in Indianapolis. We believe a broad appreciation of the arts makes our community more vibrant. We partner with the Arts Council of Indianapolis on a regular basis, including on the mural project in downtown Indianapolis.
