The outcome is very much hidden in the mists. I missed the opportunity to do an "office pool" for bettors on the outcome - but in general the opinion on the street is that the SCOTUS will strike down parts of the law, and leave the rest. We'll see.
I listened to the testimony. During oral arguments in late March, the court's five Republican-appointed justices leaned strongly toward invalidating the Affordable Care Act's individual health-insurance mandate. The four Democrat appointees lined up solidly behind the law. Still, views may have softened in the weeks since the arguments, and the complexity of the issues involved may have left some room for twists and turns as the justices sat down to write their opinions.
We'll see. Details, maybe as early as today....although my sources predict it will be Monday morning. Right in the middle of the conference. Yikes.
