Environmental

Does your industry have environmental exposures? If so, a standard general liability policy may not cover you. Environmental coverage can protect you against known exposures (from your daily operations) and unknown exposures (from previous uses of your site). With our expertise, you’ll anticipate potential costs of clean up and third-party lawsuits.

When you work with our team, we analyze your needs and exposures, set priorities and objectives, and conduct a thorough pre-underwriting process. We then pair you with the carrier partner whose coverages best fit your business objectives. Throughout our relationship, we evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and adjust as needed to continually improve your insurance plan.

Client Anecdote: A commercial property developer and Gregory & Appel client embarked on a Brownfield redevelopment of a former manufacturing site. Engineering studies revealed the presence of contaminants in the soil and an underground storage tank. These exposures could be mediated, but potential unknown exposures presented significant risk for our client. We placed coverage for undiscovered risks to our client from future clean-up costs. As a result of this plan, our client completed the project and their building is now occupied.
