Dependent Eligibility Audits

Are you currently covering ineligible health plan members? Through a dependent eligibility audit, we can identify issues and make recommendations for ERISA and Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

We begin with a review of your current enrollment practices and set a strategy for cost savings and compliance. Then, we assist with vendor selection, employee education, and implementation. In some cases, we are able to help clients realize savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Client Anecdote: With 300 employees across the U.S., our client was concerned that ineligible dependents were being covered under their health, dental and vision plans. We arranged a dependent eligibility audit and found that 5% of the dependents covered under the plan were ineligible. One of these ineligible dependents had incurred $250,000 in claims. As a result of the audit, the employer was able to eliminate all ineligible dependents from their plan and pursue reimbursement for their losses with the help of the medical plan administrator.
