When you work with Gregory & Appel, we begin with a Marshall/Swift valuation review to determine the insurance value of your property. We then use our direct contacts with insurance carriers - not always available to other agents - to develop a comprehensive program. And, we provide your mortgage company with the required proof of insurance to ensure that deals get done.

Client Anecdote: A real estate investor wanted a quote for a specific limit to cover the mortgage on an entire complex. We noticed special requirements in his mortgage contract and designed our policy accordingly. Initially, the client preferred a quote with a lower premium from another agency. However, that policy didn't meet his mortgage company's requirements. When he tried again with a our quote, it was approved. He gained ownership of a large new development, and we gained a great client.

Mary Ann Schmid
Offering clients over 20 years of insurance experience, MaryAnn has been employed by Gregory & Appel since 1988. She specializes in Property & Casualty for real estate owners and managers. MaryAnn is a member of the Accident Fund Insurance Company of America Agents Advisory Council, and the Indiana Insurance Company Agency Council. She has earned the Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI) designation and is a CPCU candidate.

Don Arbogast
Don grew up in Indianapolis and he and his family currently live in Midtown Indy, where they are very active in their community. After graduating from Ball State University, he began he career as a Surety Bond Underwriter with Seaboard Surety Company in Chicago, IL. Subsequently, he came back to Indy where he worked with national and local insurance agencies before joining Gregory & Appel. Handling challenging business situations and bringing risk management resources together is where Don is particularly strong. He is predominately attracted to dynamic, growing companies with unique exposures and challenges.
